Top 5 Reasons Why I Love JAPAN! From the Filipino’s viewpoint

The article is written by Rochelle coming from Philippine to Japan. This time she has contributed to my blog, and the topic is “Top5 reasons why I love Japan”.

So here is Rochelle!

I have been to some places and have made few friends from around the world! And really, I have never met anyone who is not interested when I mention Japan! In fact, when they heard I was coming to Japan, they cheered for me and wished me well. They believe that Japan is a great country that can satisfy my curious and adventurous life.

So, here are my top 5 reasons why I love Japan!

1. Convenience! Life is made easy!

When you say convenient, Japan takes it to the next level!

Convenience stores or popularly called “KOMBINI” like Lawson, K-Circle, Family Mart 7/11 are to be found everywhere which sells anything you need from deodorant to your late night bento needs. And well, the vending machines are in every imaginable corner, so grabbing a hot or cold drink is possible anytime, all the time!

The mode of transportation is even more so. Yes! It is a bit confusing at first but once you get used to it, its very easy! One may get lost from time to time but as long as you dont get out of the station you can just ride another train and start back to your point of origin without having to pay for another ticket! Most of the train stations are located nearby tourist attractions and buses are in operation every 10-15 minutes.

2. The Anime and Pop culture!

Studio Ghibli is one of the reasons why I got interested in Japan! And then there’s more than a hundred of animes which awakened my childhood imagination back in my elementary days!

And I know I am not the only one in this. My friend, Fernando from Costa Rica even shared the same interest in Naruto! Mangas and J-Pop, a lot of people I know can never get enough of. Literature is another thing to love with Murakami topping off the list.

3. Japanese Castles and Gardens

From Hokkaido in the North to Okinawa in the South, Japan’s symbolic castles can never be missed! The elaborate garden designs are painstakingly maintained to perfection that all throughout the year in whatever season, one can always enjoy the scenery.

4. Matsuri or festivals!

Japan celebrates all kinds of festivals all year round. Natsu Matsuri(summer festival) is the highlight of all with the famous hanabi or fireworks show concluding the event.

5. Japan’s Nature and Beauty!

Fuji-san(Mt. Fuji) and sakura (cherry blossom)  are just two of the natural resources Japan can boast of, but there are actually a lot more. Waterfalls, different species of flowers and trees.

Beaches down in Okinawa region are world class! And a lot more mountains! For nature lovers, Japan is heaven!

I did not include food as it needs an entirely separate article!

So whether or not you have visited Japan yet, what do you love about the country? Do let us know!
